Our scientific investigations, which range from UV-Fluorescence to pigment analysis, assist us in determining authenticity, performing the safest and most effective treatments as well as proposing suitable preventive measures. Scientific analysis can help the owner or custodian to better understand the aesthetic, conceptual and physical characteristics of an object. RECOOP also collaborates with Art Historians who are established both locally and abroad. Art History helps us to understand the object’s significance and place within the societal context of a particular period. We have always considered the fact that good conservation and restoration practices stem from both the knowledge of materials and the object’s history.
